LAGQ performed in Savannah as part of the Savannah Onstage Festival. The festival includes a 'competition of American singing' as well as 'side events' covering several musical genres including classical, jazz and folk. I encourage everyone to support and attend this event - it is one of the finest festivals in the US (a somewhat biased opinion from a long time resident...) |

Tony Morris (guitar) and Renata Green (flute) - performed for a fundraising concert at the Telfair Museum of Art in Savannah on Tuesday, February 12 at 7pm. (Tony is the host of Classical Guitar Alive! radio program) For more information, click here. Post concert notes - Tony and Renata presented a lovely concert that was both enjoyed by the audience and appreciated as a fundraiser by the museum- I look forward to their next visit. This was a very nice event that posed a question for me: What would it be like to perform when you knew that John Williams (yes, the guitarist) and John Etheridge (an internationally known jazz guitarist) were in the audience? I kept wondering to myself why JW seemed to be familiar when I scanned the audience but I could not quite resolve it until he was acknowledged at the end of the concert.... Ya never know who you might run into.... So the moral is - attend your local CG concerts for the possible double bonus of hearing some great live music and the chance that you might meet some interesting folks! It was a pleasure to meet and converse a bit with all four musicians. |
