Foundation of America Convention and Competition. The Long Center for the
Performing Arts, Austin, Texas, Hosted by the Austin Classical Guitar Society.
"If
you've attended but never truly participated in the GFA Convention (or if
you've never attended at all!), 2010 is the year to change that. After great
success at the event in 2009, this year's GFA Convention once again welcomes
all participants to perform in a Guitar Orchestra. In addition, we're
continuing the ever-popular Private Lesson Package, open to the first
50 registrants who apply. These registrants will receive three private lessons
with Convention artists or GFA Board Members for an additional fee of
$120. Finally, we are pleased to unveil two inaugural events in Austin. The
first-ever GFA Presenters' Congress will provide executive training
programs for presenters and unprecedented networking opportunities for players
and managements. Another newly-minted event will offer an affordable 3-day
mini festival for middle-school and high-school guitar programs, forming a
Youth Orchestra - an unforgettable large ensemble festival
experience."

Note: there have been many recent changes to these web
pages - the menu bars (top and bottom of the pages) should make
locating relevant pages easier. I suggest/recommend
and provide links to a number of editions of guitar music
(classical, fingerstyle, and other editions using standard notation as
well as TAB) for guitarists at all levels - please note that I do
not have all of these editions nor would I use all of them since I am
primarily a classical guitarist. The Christmas/holiday music page
does contain a number of comments about difficulty levels and some
favorite anthologies. The composer
specific pages provide a little background and in some cases, links
to web sites with more information.
Potential subscribers to mailing lists are encouraged to read the two links above
before attempting to subscribe to any of the lists.
