Classical Guitar History List

(formerly 'cargh-l')

Information

This is an unmoderated list open to all who are interested in the history of the guitar. The main purpose of the list is to create a forum where information and knowledge can be exchanged freely among us, thereby increasing public awareness of the role the guitar had played in human society all over this planet during the years it acquired its current form and the basis for its repertoire.  Note that this list is focused on issues/information directly relating to the history of guitar music, performance and 'period' instruments; many of the list members specialize in these areas or have a specific interest in them.  The list tends to have light activity and the activity usually occurs in 'spurts'...

_Discussion Lists_ are open to world-wide participation. It is important that participants take the time to understand what others might be sharing and that they carefully think through any response that they might have; Personal reactions should only be shared personally, not sent to the list. Posts to lists hosted at this site should be relevant to the thread topic as well as the list topic. List moderators are present to help keep discussions on track - seek their assistance should you feel the need. Should a list member become unruly, then you are encouraged to simply ignore them, not fan their flames...   By requesting and subsequently returning your 'email authorization' to join the list, you accept the 'list policies' and you acknowledge that messages posted to the list are directed at a public audience and not as personal messages directly to you. Posters are encouraged to send personal emails directly to the desired recipient - messages sent to the list are considered to be for group discussion or the presentation of relevant, useful information.  List Members who ignore these policies will simply be denied access to the list.
